Man arrested on weapons charges in Hartford

HARTFORD, CT — A Hartford man was arrested after fleeing from police on an illegally operated all-terrain vehicle on May 16, 2026.

Hartford Police Officer M. Murphy was conducting proactive patrol in the area of 181 Franklin Avenue when he observed a male illegally operating a white Yamaha quad.

The operator briefly stopped before fleeing on foot east on Elliott Street after Officer Murphy attempted to apprehend him.

Following a brief struggle, the suspect was taken into custody and secured in handcuffs.

During a search incidental to arrest, officers recovered a loaded Glock handgun from the suspect’s possession.

Jonathan Cedeno, 32, of Hartford, was charged with carrying a pistol without a permit, interfering with police, possession of a large capacity magazine and operations prohibited.

Police seized a Glock Model 23 .40 caliber handgun loaded with 27 live rounds and a Yamaha Banshee quad.
