ROCHESTER, VT — Vermont State Police arrested a Massachusetts man on a DUI charge after his pickup truck crashed into a guardrail on Route 73.
David Collyer, 59, of South Orleans, Massachusetts, was taken into custody at approximately 6:18 p.m. on May 22, 2026, near the Mount Horrid Overlook.
Police from the Royalton Barracks responded to a report of a pickup truck that had struck a guardrail at the location.
Troopers identified Collyer as the operator of the vehicle.
During the interaction, Collyer displayed signs of impairment, police said.
Following an investigation, Collyer was arrested on suspicion of DUI and transported to the Royalton Barracks for processing.
Collyer was issued a citation and released.
