MARGARETVILLE, NY — A woman faces a drug charge following a probation violation investigation, the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office announced.
Debra A. Peters, 57, of Margaretville, was arrested May 21 and charged with one count of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, a class A misdemeanor.
Sheriff’s investigators were assigned May 19 to assist the Delaware County Probation Department with a complaint involving a probationer allegedly violating the terms and conditions of her probation.
During the investigation, authorities determined Peters, who was under probation supervision, had unlawfully possessed a controlled substance, constituting a probation violation.
Peters, who was already in custody on the probation violation, was arraigned on the drug charge in Delaware County Centralized Arraignment Part Court.
She was remanded to the Delaware County Correctional Facility.
