ROXBURY, MA — Officers arrested a suspect and recovered a loaded firearm early Thursday morning in the area of 149 Dudley Street.
At about 1:30 a.m., officers assigned to District B-2 observed a group of individuals congregating outside the library.
Prior to exiting their vehicle, officers observed one of the individuals quickly shift his body away from officers while another individual stood in front of him in an effort to block officers’ view.
As officers approached the group, two males immediately stood up and walked towards officers.
Between the two males, officers observed a firearm lying on the structure where the two males were sitting.
Both males were detained as additional officers arrived on scene.
One of the males was taken into custody while the rest of the group were identified and released from the scene.
The firearm was determined to be a Polymer 90 9mm handgun loaded with four rounds of live ammunition.
Ivan Robles, 19, of Taunton, was arrested and is expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court on charges of carrying a loaded firearm without a license, carrying a firearm without a license, and possession of ammunition without an FID card.
