Man arrested on drug charges in Johnstown

JOHNSTOWN, PA — A 37-year-old man was arrested Wednesday following a controlled delivery of narcotics in the Moxham area.

Anthony Rodriguez was taken into custody by the Cambria County Drug Task Force after accepting a package containing approximately 1 pound of methamphetamine and 88 grams of fentanyl.

The United States Postal Service seized the incoming parcel, which was being sent from California to a Johnstown address.

Investigators said the methamphetamine has a street value of $9,000 and the fentanyl has a street value of $8,800.

Rodriguez has no apparent connection to Johnstown but has ties to multiple states across the country, according to authorities.

Investigators set up surveillance on the location and conducted a controlled delivery of the package.

Rodriguez was arrested without incident when he took possession of the parcel.

He was processed at the Johnstown Police Department before being transported to Cambria County Jail for arraignment.

The investigation was conducted with cooperation from the Johnstown Police Department, Cambria Township Police Department, Cambria County Detectives Office, Cambria County Sheriff’s Office, Richland Township Police Department, FBI Safe Streets Task Force, Cambria County District Attorney’s Office, United States Attorney’s Office, United States Postal Service and Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General Bureau of Narcotics Investigation.
