Man arrested on burglary charge in Horseheads

HORSEHEADS, NY — A 45-year-old man was arrested after allegedly breaking into a residence while a person was home.

Christopher S. Price, of Elmira Heights, was charged with burglary in the 2nd degree, a class C felony, criminal mischief in the 4th degree and petit larceny, both class A misdemeanors, and public lewdness, a class B misdemeanor.

Chemung County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a residence on Ohanlon Street at about 12:22 p.m. May 20, 2026, for a report of a burglary.

A resident who had fled the home called 911 after Price entered, according to the Chemung County Sheriff’s Office.

Upon arrival, deputies found the front door of the residence had been damaged and forced open.

Deputies located Price inside the residence and took him into custody.

The Criminal Investigation Division assisted in the investigation.

Investigators learned that Price forcibly entered the residence by kicking in a locked front door while a resident was home.

Once inside, Price undressed himself and exposed his nude body to the resident, who subsequently fled the residence to safety and called 911, according to the sheriff’s office.

Price also removed multiple items that did not belong to him from the residence.

Price was arraigned in the Town of Horseheads Court, where an order of protection was issued against him.

He was remanded to the Chemung County Jail and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
