5 arrested in gang assault in Spring Valley

SPRING VALLEY, NY — Five men have been arrested in connection with a gang assault that left a victim with a deep facial laceration.

Officers from the Spring Valley Police Department were dispatched to 29 South Main Street at approximately 2:05 a.m. on May 14, 2026, in response to an unknown incident.

Upon arrival, officers located a victim suffering from a deep facial laceration consistent with a slashing.

The victim told officers the injury was sustained during an assault by multiple individuals.

The suspects fled the scene prior to police arrival.

Due to the severity of the injuries, the victim was transported to Westchester Medical Center for treatment.

Following an investigation by the Detective Bureau, five individuals were arrested.

Kevin Cardona, 31, of Nanuet, was charged with gang assault in the first degree, two counts of assault in the first degree, robbery in the first degree and robbery in the second degree.

Alexander Salazar-Rosa, 24, undomiciled, was charged with gang assault in the first degree, two counts of assault in the first degree, robbery in the first degree and robbery in the second degree.

Manuel Vargas-Casum, 22, undomiciled, was charged with gang assault in the first degree, two counts of assault in the first degree, robbery in the first degree and robbery in the second degree.

Keny Aragon-Segura, 25, undomiciled, was charged with gang assault in the first degree, two counts of assault in the first degree, robbery in the first degree and robbery in the second degree.

Rodbin Garcia-Medina, 20, undomiciled, was charged with gang assault in the first degree, two counts of assault in the first degree, robbery in the first degree and robbery in the second degree.

All five defendants were arraigned and remanded to the Rockland County Jail pending further court proceedings.
