PROVIDENCE, RI — A Providence man was arrested as a fugitive from justice at Providence Superior Court on Jan. 14.
William Mackenzie, 45, of Providence, was taken into custody at 1:38 p.m. by Rhode Island State Police troopers.
Mackenzie was wanted by the Middlesex County Sheriff’s Office in New Brunswick, New Jersey, for probation violation on an original charge of vehicle theft.
He was transported to the Lincoln Woods Barracks, where he was processed and arraigned by a justice of the peace.
Mackenzie was turned over to the Adult Correctional Institution-Men’s Intake Service Center.
In separate incidents, troopers made three additional arrests in Providence.
At 10:47 p.m., Khalil Ba, 23, of Providence, was arrested for obstructing an officer in execution of duty following a motor vehicle stop on Charles Street.
Ba was processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks and held overnight as a probation violator pending morning arraignment at Sixth Division District Court.
At 1:57 a.m., Johnathan Rosales, 42, of Providence, was arrested for driving under the influence of liquor, third offense or subsequent, and refusal to submit to a chemical test, first offense, following a motor vehicle stop on Broad Street.
Rosales was processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks, arraigned by a justice of the peace, and released into the custody of a responsible adult.
At 1:48 a.m., David Lassegue, 45, of Pawtucket, was arrested as a fugitive from justice following a motor vehicle stop on Prarie Avenue.
Lassegue was wanted by the U.S. Marshals Service for probation violation on an original charge of robbery, banking type.
He was processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks and later turned over to the U.S. Marshals Service.
