COLCHESTER, NY — A Davenport man was arrested Saturday following a traffic stop in which authorities say he repeatedly failed to follow a deputy’s orders.
Edward Kaneg, 55, of Davenport, was a passenger in a vehicle that was pulled over after a deputy observed it cross the solid double yellow line on Knox Avenue, according to Sheriff Craig S. DuMond.
During the stop, Kaneg failed to remain in the vehicle after being directed multiple times by the deputy to stay inside, authorities said.
Kaneg was charged with obstructing governmental administration in the second degree and resisting arrest, both class A misdemeanors.
He was also issued a traffic summons for consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle.
Kaneg was released on uniform traffic tickets and appearance tickets and is scheduled to appear in Colchester Town Court at a later date.
