TEWKSBURY, MA — Police are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a man suspected of attempting to use counterfeit currency at a local liquor store.
Officers responded to Market Basket Spirits at 10 Main Street on Friday for a report of a past incident involving possible counterfeit twenty-dollar bills.
According to police, a male suspect allegedly attempted to pass counterfeit currency at the store.
The reporting party told police the individual had a stack of $20 bills, some believed to be legitimate and others believed to be counterfeit.
The counterfeit bills were described as appearing “laminated.”
