Man arrested on stolen property charge in Monkton

MONKTON, VT — State police arrested a Bristol man Sunday after discovering he was in possession of a stolen vehicle.

Dean Heffernan, 42, of Bristol, was taken into custody at approximately 10:30 a.m. on Vaughn Court and charged with possession of stolen property.

Troopers from the New Haven Barracks were notified by Richmond Police Department at approximately 8:40 a.m. of a stolen truck that was possibly on a property in Monkton near Vaughn’s Mobile Home Park.

Troopers located and recovered the stolen vehicle.

While conducting an investigation, troopers discovered that Heffernan was in possession of a separate stolen vehicle located at Vaughn Court.

Heffernan was transported to New Haven State Police Barracks.

He was later released on a citation to appear in Addison County Superior Court – Criminal Division on July 6 at 12:30 p.m.
