AVON, NY — Four Hornell residents were arrested on drug charges following a traffic stop on Interstate 390 on May 14.
Investigator Shawn Whitford of the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation.
The driver was identified as Morgan Ayers, 34, of Hornell.
Passengers were identified as Joaquin Irizarry, 57, Angellica Clark, 30, and David O’Brien Jr., 34, all of Hornell.
A quantity of crack cocaine was located and seized from inside the vehicle during the stop.
The occupants were interviewed roadside and placed under arrest.
Ayers was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree, a Class B felony, criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, a Class A misdemeanor, and criminally using drug paraphernalia in the second degree, a Class A misdemeanor.
Irizarry was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree, a Class B felony, criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, a Class A misdemeanor, and criminally using drug paraphernalia in the second degree, a Class A misdemeanor.
Clark was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree, a Class B felony, criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fourth degree, a Class D felony, and criminal impersonation in the second degree, a Class A misdemeanor.
O’Brien was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, a Class A misdemeanor.
Ayers, Clark and Irizarry were transported to the Livingston County Jail for processing and pre-arraignment detention.
The three were arraigned before Town of West Sparta Justice Mahany.
Ayers and Clark were released on their own recognizance.
Irizarry was remanded to the custody of the sheriff on no bail due to two prior felony convictions.
O’Brien was issued an appearance ticket and released.
The Livingston County Public Defender’s Office represented the defendants at arraignment.
The Livingston County District Attorney’s Office represented the People.
