WARREN, VT — A woman faces drunken driving charges after her vehicle overturned and went down an embankment Wednesday afternoon.
Leanna Montgomery, 44, of Granville, was driving a 2011 Volkswagen Tiguan west on Brook Road at approximately 3:18 p.m. May 14, 2026, when the vehicle left the roadway, according to Vermont State Police.
Troopers from the Berlin Barracks responded to the single-vehicle crash and found the Tiguan overturned on its roof down an embankment.
Troopers detected indicators of impairment while speaking with Montgomery, police said.
Montgomery, who was not wearing a seat belt, sustained minor injuries and was transported to Central Vermont Medical Center for medical evaluation.
She was later processed for driving under the influence and negligent operation.
Montgomery was cited to appear in Washington County Superior Court – Criminal Division on June 18, 2026, at 8:30 a.m.
The Warren Fire Department and Mad River Valley Ambulance assisted at the scene.
