POUGHKEEPSIE, NY — A 38-year-old man was arrested following an investigation into drug distribution in the Spackenkill area.
Jason Cabone was taken into custody on May 14, 2026, after the Dutchess County District Attorney’s Office Drug Task Force executed a search warrant at 41 Southgate Drive in the Town of Poughkeepsie.
The investigation began after numerous residents in the Southgate Spackenkill area reported drug activity in their neighborhood.
Drug Task Force agents identified Cabone as an alleged narcotics dealer and conducted undercover purchases from him in the area and surrounding locations, according to the district attorney’s office.
Members of the Drug Task Force, in coordination with the Poughkeepsie Joint SWAT team, the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Service Unit and members of the Town of Poughkeepsie Police and Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office Patrol, executed the search warrant.
Agents seized evidence related to the sale and distribution of narcotics and dangerous drugs.
Cabone was charged with four counts of criminal sale of a controlled substance in the third degree.
He was arraigned in the Town of Poughkeepsie Justice Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Justice and Transition Center.
Additional charges related to the possession and sale of narcotics are pending.
