MONROE, NY — Jose Mendoza Ramos was taken into custody Wednesday after police said he fled on foot following a domestic incident on Miller Lane in the Village of Monroe.
Mendoza Ramos was awaiting arraignment on charges of second-degree assault, first-degree criminal contempt, third-degree assault, second-degree menacing, criminal obstruction of breathing, second-degree unlawful imprisonment and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, according to the Monroe Police Department.
Police said multiple law enforcement agencies joined a coordinated search and Mendoza Ramos was located and taken into custody without further incident.
The incident happened earlier Wednesday, police said.
The New York State Police, the New York State Police Aviation Unit, the Town of Woodbury Police Department, the Town of Chester Police Department and the Village of Washingtonville Police Department assisted in the search, according to police.
