CORTLANDVILLE, NY — A sedan crashed on Interstate 81 in the Town of Cortlandville early Thursday, according to the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office.
Officers were dispatched at about 2:28 a.m. to mile marker 49.9 northbound for a reported motor vehicle crash.
When officers arrived, they found the sedan about 100 feet over an embankment with heavy damage, the sheriff’s office said.
Investigators said the driver lost control of the vehicle, struck a guide rail and went over the embankment before the sedan came to rest upright in a drainage ditch.
The driver sustained minor injuries, according to the sheriff’s office.
TLC Ambulance evaluated the driver at the scene.
