BOSTON, MA — A search warrant execution on Beach Street led to the arrest of a 46-year-old man on drug trafficking charges Wednesday morning.
Joey Liang, of Boston, was taken into custody at approximately 9:30 a.m. May 12, 2026, following an investigation by members of the District C-6 South Boston and A-1 Downtown Drug Control Units.
Officers observed Liang exit his residence through the front door, where he was arrested.
A search of Liang’s person yielded seventeen plastic bags containing fifteen grams of fentanyl, according to police.
Officers used a key to enter Liang’s residence, where they recovered an additional thirty-nine plastic bags containing thirty-five grams of fentanyl and an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency.
Liang is expected to be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court on a charge of trafficking fentanyl.
