CLIFTON PARK, NY — State Police arrested a man on child sexual exploitation charges on May 8, 2026.
William J. Peters, 53, of Halfmoon, was charged with Promoting a Sexual Performance by a Child, a class D felony, and Possessing a Sexual Performance by a Child, a class E felony.
State Police were assisted by the Troop G Computer Crimes Unit, the Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
Peters is accused of promoting and possessing images consistent with child sexual exploitation.
The investigation stemmed from a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
Peters was processed at State Police barracks in Clifton Park.
He was arraigned at Halfmoon Town Court where he was remanded to the Saratoga County Correctional Facility in lieu of $10,000 cash, $20,000 bond or a $150,000 partially secured bond.
