FAIRFIELD TOWNSHIP, PA — A fugitive wanted since 2024 was arrested in Hamilton on May 12 after fleeing from police during a theft investigation at Walmart.

Fairfield Township Police officers responded to a theft in progress at Walmart on May 7.

When officers attempted to make contact with the suspect, he fled through the store, entered an employee-only area, and ran out a back door into a nearby wooded area.

Multiple law enforcement agencies assisted in the search, but the suspect was not located at the time.

Officers later identified the suspect as Shaun Walls, who was wanted by the Warren County Sheriff’s Office on charges dating back to 2022.

The charges include aggravated trafficking in drugs with a gun specification, weapons under disability, carrying a concealed weapon, improper handling of a firearm and trafficking in fentanyl.

Fairfield Township Police partnered with the U.S. Marshals Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team to locate Walls.

On May 12, investigators tracked Walls to an apartment on Gordon Smith Boulevard in Hamilton.

Walls refused to comply with officers’ commands but was taken into custody.

Walls was also charged by Fairfield Township Police with theft, obstructing official business, criminal damaging and criminal trespass.
