Four arrested on DWI charges in Highland

HIGHLAND, NY — Town of Lloyd Police arrested four people on various charges between April 19 and May 8, according to a department press release.

Joseph M. Reilly, 31, of Highland, was arrested May 6 and charged with driving while intoxicated and aggravated unlicensed operation in the first degree after the vehicle he was operating was involved in an auto accident on New Paltz Road in Highland where he struck numerous mailboxes and a retaining wall.

Reilly was arraigned in the Ulster County Centralized Parts Court by Judge Gallagher and released.

Reilly is due in the Town of Lloyd Court May 12, 2026.

Sunilkumar L. Patel, 46, of New Paltz, was arrested May 5 and charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated after he was found passed out behind the wheel of his running vehicle at the Lowe’s parking lot in Highland.

Patel was released on an appearance ticket and is due in the Town of Lloyd Court June 4, 2026.

Brian Alayo, 24, of Newburgh, was arrested May 8 and charged with criminal trespass in the third degree after he was found climbing on the Mid-Hudson Bridge structure.

He was released on an appearance ticket and is due in the Town of Lloyd Court May 28, 2026.

Stephen M. Purdy, 44, of Hopewell Junction, was arrested April 19 on an arrest warrant for criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree.

He was transported to the Ulster County Jail for arraignment in the Ulster County Centralized Arraignment Parts Court.

William C. Krumm, 48, of Milton, was arrested April 23 on an arrest warrant for aggravated driving while intoxicated and aggravated unlicensed operation in the first degree.

He was arraigned in the Town of Lloyd Court and released.
