Two arrested after stolen vehicle recovered in Greece

GREECE, NY — Two Rochester residents were arrested after police recovered a stolen vehicle on West Ridge Road.

Greece Police officers monitoring the department’s License Plate Reader system received an alert for a reported stolen 2024 gray Volkswagen Taos at approximately 4:58 p.m. on May 10, 2026.

The vehicle was stopped and the driver, Akai Phillips, 28, of Rochester, and the passenger, Ahsaria Allen, 25, of Rochester, were arrested.

Officers confirmed the vehicle had been reported stolen.

Phillips initially provided officers with false identifying information before his true identity was determined.

Officers also discovered Phillips had several outstanding warrants with the Rochester Police Department.

Phillips was charged with criminal possession of stolen property in the third degree, unauthorized use of a vehicle in the third degree, aggravated unlicensed operation in the second degree and criminal impersonation in the second degree.

Allen was charged with criminal possession of stolen property in the third degree and unauthorized use of a vehicle in the third degree.

Both individuals were processed at the Greece Police Headquarters and transported to the county jail for arraignment in CAP Court.
