WOLCOTT, NY — New York State Police arrested a man following a reopened investigation into allegations of sexual abuse involving a child victim.
Jason N. Edwards, 43, of Wolcott, was taken into custody on May 8, 2026.
The investigation stems from an incident originally reported in March 2021.
Following renewed investigative efforts in coordination with the Wayne County District Attorney’s Office and the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, investigators identified an additional victim and reopened the case.
Edwards was arrested on an indictment warrant issued by Wayne County Court.
He is charged with predatory sexual assault against a child, an A-II felony, and sexual abuse in the second degree, an A misdemeanor.
Edwards was processed at SP Lyons without incident and transported to Wayne County Court for arraignment proceedings.
The investigation remains ongoing.
