BREWER, ME — A Brewer man was arrested early Sunday after a police sergeant observed him holding a wallet inside a parked vehicle.
Sgt. Cummings was on patrol at approximately 1:30 a.m. when he observed two suspicious subjects walking down Center Street before entering a parking lot out of sight.
Cummings pulled into the parking lot and observed Dennis Fongeallaz, 41, of Brewer, standing in the open door of a parked vehicle holding a female’s wallet.
Cummings attempted to speak with Fongeallaz, who then fled on foot.
Cummings pursued Fongeallaz and apprehended him on the next street over.
Fongeallaz was transported to Penobscot County Jail and charged with burglary to a motor vehicle and refusing to submit.
