Juvenile arrested on firearm charges in Dorchester

DORCHESTER, MA — A 16-year-old male was arrested on firearm charges following a ShotSpotter activation early Sunday morning.

Officers assigned to District C-11 responded to a ShotSpotter activation in the area of 362 Geneva Avenue at approximately 2:34 a.m. on May 10, 2026.

Upon arrival, officers spoke with residents of a nearby address who reported hearing a gunshot.

A witness told officers she observed an unknown male wearing a black puffer jacket and black sweatpants standing at the intersection of Geneva Avenue and Oakley Street before entering the rear passenger seat of a dark-colored older-model Infiniti sedan that then traveled toward the Fields Corner area.

Officers located several pieces of ballistic evidence at the corner of Geneva Avenue and Oakley Street.

At approximately 2:39 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop of a dark-colored Infiniti sedan on Dorchester Avenue that matched the description broadcast over department radio in connection with the ShotSpotter activation.

Upon approaching the vehicle, officers observed what they believed to be a firearm on the rear floorboard.

Officers ordered the occupants to exit the vehicle.

The firearm was subsequently identified as a Polymer80 9mm pistol with no serial number, loaded with 11 rounds in the magazine and one round chambered.

The firearm was also equipped with a flashlight attachment.

The magazine had a 17-round capacity.

The juvenile was placed under arrest and transported to District C-11, where he was booked.

The juvenile is expected to be arraigned in Boston Juvenile Court on charges of delinquent to wit: carrying a firearm without a license, delinquent to wit: carrying a loaded firearm without a license, delinquent to wit: possession of a large capacity feeding device, and delinquent to wit: possession of ammunition without an FID card.
