SHARON, VT — Vermont State Police from the Royalton barracks responded to a single-vehicle crash on Vermont Route 132 near Cowslip Hill on May 8 at approximately 5:10 p.m.
Troopers arrived to find a 2025 Hyundai Santa Fe off the road and in a ditch.
The operator was identified as Martha Austin, 67, of Sharon.
During the investigation, troopers determined Austin was showing signs of impairment.
Austin was arrested and transported to the Royalton barracks for processing.
She was issued a citation to appear in Windsor County Criminal Court on May 26 at 8:30 a.m. on a charge of driving under the influence, second offense.
Austin was not injured in the crash.
The vehicle was totaled.
Weather conditions were clear and the road was dry at the time of the crash.
