ATHOL, MA — Police responded to a report of an armed home invasion involving a firearm at a residence in the Essex/Freedom Street area at about 3 p.m. Saturday.
Officers arrived and found no incident in progress, according to Chief Mousseau.
Both shifts responded to the call, creating a large police presence in the area.
Police said there appears to be no threat to the public at this time.
