WATERVLIET, NY — A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle that left the roadway Friday night near the intersection of 19th Street and 4th Avenue.
The crash occurred at approximately 9 p.m. May 8.
The vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree, a street sign and the pedestrian before coming to rest, according to police.
Speed, alcohol and drugs do not appear to be contributing factors in the crash.
The driver sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene.
All other occupants of the vehicle were unharmed.
The victim, a 54-year-old man, sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital by the Watervliet Fire Department.
The driver has been cited for violations of the New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law.
