ONEONTA, NY — A motorcyclist died after colliding with an SUV at the intersection of State Highway 28 and County Highway 48 on May 3, 2026.
New York State Police at Oneonta responded to the crash at approximately 1:52 p.m.
An investigation determined that Patricia B. Howard, 76, of Sidney, was operating a 2021 Honda CRV on County Highway 48 and began making a left turn onto State Highway 28 when she failed to observe a 2025 BMW motorcycle traveling south on State Highway 28 with a group of motorcyclists.
The operator of the BMW motorcycle was unable to avoid the collision and struck the Honda CRV.
The operator of the BMW motorcycle was identified as Gabriel Mizrahi, 57, of Syosset, New York.
Mizrahi was provided care by another motorcyclist and civilians prior to EMS arrival.
Mizrahi was transported to A.O Fox Hospital to be airlifted to a trauma center but succumbed to his injuries.
Investigators from the Bureau of Criminal Investigation responded to the scene to assist with collision reconstruction.
