Man arrested on child exploitation charges in Clifton Park

CLIFTON PARK, NY — State Police arrested a man on child sexual exploitation charges May 4, 2026.

Matthew K. Muschett, 25, of Clifton Park, was charged with promoting a sexual performance by a child, a class D felony, and possessing a sexual performance by a child, a class E felony.

State Police made the arrest with assistance from the Troop G Computer Crimes Unit and the Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce.

Muschett is accused of promoting and possessing images consistent with child sexual exploitation.

The investigation stemmed from a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

Muschett was processed at State Police barracks in Clifton Park.

He was arraigned at Clifton Park Town Court and released on his own recognizance.
