PITTSBURGH, PA — A woman who previously pleaded guilty to endangering the welfare of children has been arrested on a parole violation.

Kyla Ferguson, 29, of Pittsburgh, pleaded guilty to one count of endangering the welfare of children in March 2020 in a case in which her two-month-old child sustained a number of injuries.

Ferguson was sentenced to 16 to 32 months in jail followed by five years probation.

On April 7, a bench warrant was issued for Ferguson for a parole violation on that case.

Ferguson also has an active warrant out of the City of Pittsburgh charging her with taking part in a shooting and stabbing in Northview Heights in December.

Detectives from the Allegheny County Sheriff’s Office developed information that Ferguson was inside an apartment in Bedford Dwellings and arrived at the location earlier today.

After announcing their presence, detectives took Ferguson into custody without incident and transported her to the Allegheny County Jail.
