Man arrested on weapons charges in Lawrence

LAWRENCE, MA — A man was taken into custody Monday following an investigation into a reported assault with a dangerous weapon stemming from a motor vehicle crash.

Officer Jusino of the Early Night Patrol Division responded to the incident on April 27.

Following a thorough investigation, which included interviewing all involved parties and executing a search warrant on a vehicle, officers recovered a Smith & Wesson M&P Shield 9mm handgun, a box of Sellier & Bellot 9mm ammunition, and two magazines one loaded with 11 rounds and another with 9 rounds.

The suspect was charged with assault with a dangerous weapon, possession of ammunition without an FID card, carrying a firearm without a license (loaded), possession of a firearm without an FID card, possession of a large capacity firearm, and improper storage of a large capacity firearm.
