Inmate walks off work site in Thomaston

THOMASTON, ME — The Maine Department of Corrections is searching for a Bolduc Correctional Facility resident who left his work site without permission on Jan. 9.

Brian Day, 45, of Bolduc, had been working in the community during the workday when he walked off the Thomaston job site.

Day had been sentenced to three and a half years in prison for theft, forgery and other offenses.

He had earned a classification level of community custody, which allowed him to work in the community during the workday.

The Maine Department of Corrections has activated its Fugitive Investigation Apprehension Team and is working with federal, state and local law enforcement to apprehend Day.

Officials are advising anyone with information about Day or who believes they have seen him to call 911 immediately.

Authorities are warning the public not to approach or engage him.
