BOSTON, MA — Police are seeking the public’s help to identify a suspect in an armed robbery that occurred Friday afternoon in the South End.
Officers assigned to District D-4 were flagged down by a victim at approximately 12:02 p.m. on May 1 who reported being robbed of his cellphone and jewelry in the area of Northampton Street and Washington Street.
The victim told police he had arranged to meet a friend at 101 Northampton Street to return property and texted the friend upon arrival.
An unknown male suspect then ran up to the victim’s vehicle, opened the passenger door and pointed a black firearm at the victim before taking the victim’s chain and cellphone, according to police.
The suspect fled down Northampton Street toward Shawmut Avenue.
District D-4 detectives are investigating the incident.
