Police seek help locating missing man in Newark

NEWARK, NJ — Police are asking for the public’s help in locating a missing Newark man.

Rafael Batista, 43, of Newark, was reported missing on Monday, April 20, according to Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, Sr.

Batista, a Hispanic male, was last seen in the 60 block of N. 5th Street between Dickerson Street and Sussex Avenue.

He was wearing a blue jacket, a white shirt and blue pants.

Batista is described as 5’11”, weighs 200 pounds, and has brown eyes and black hair.

Anyone with information on Batista’s whereabouts is urged to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477).
