SCITUATE, RI — A Narragansett man was arrested on sexual assault charges Tuesday afternoon.
Joseph Garvey, 39, of Narragansett, was taken into custody at 4:21 p.m. at his residence.
He was charged with second degree sexual assault and simple assault and/or battery.
The arrest was the result of a barracks investigation.
Garvey was transported to the State Police Wickford Barracks, where he was processed and arraigned before a justice of the peace.
He was released with a future Third District Court arraignment date.
In a separate incident, troopers arrested John-Paul Ohart, 44, of Dorchester, Massachusetts, at 1:47 a.m.
Ohart was charged with driving under the influence of liquor, first offense, and possession of a Schedule I-V controlled substance.
