SARATOGA, NY — A 64-year-old man has been arrested on charges of stealing gold coins worth more than $36,000 from a residence over a three-year period.
The Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office received an inactive larceny complaint Thursday at 12:52 p.m. on County Road 67 in the town of Saratoga.
David J. Peters, of Stillwater, was arrested on two counts of grand larceny in the 3rd degree, both class D felonies.
Peters is accused of stealing gold coins worth approximately $27,000 from a safe in the residence in March 2023.
He is also charged with stealing approximately $9,400 worth of gold coins from the same location in January.
Peters was arraigned before the Honorable Charles Sherman in the Saratoga Town Court and remanded to the Saratoga County Jail pending further proceedings.
