HAVERFORD, PA — Two Philadelphia men were arrested Thursday following a burglary and police chase that ended in a crash.
Police received a 911 call at approximately 11:53 a.m. April 30 reporting two male subjects burglarizing a residence in the 600 block of Yale Avenue.
Responding officers received information that the suspects were leaving the area in a white Jeep Grand Cherokee.
Officers reported the suspects’ Jeep displayed a Delaware registration plate and was possibly traveling north on Route 1.
Haverford police spotted the vehicle traveling north on Township Line Road occupied by two subjects and attempted a traffic stop.
The vehicle did not stop for police and crashed into a pole at the intersection of City Avenue and Lancaster Avenue.
Both occupants exited the vehicle and fled on foot.
A Haverford officer tracked down one of the men near Wynnewood Avenue and took him into custody.
The other man fled toward the Lankenau Hospital property and was eventually stopped and taken into custody near the helipad on the hospital property.
The two suspects, a 26-year-old man from Philadelphia and a 27-year-old man from Philadelphia, will be charged with burglary and other offenses.
Haverford police were assisted by Lower Merion, Marple, Radnor and Morton police departments.
Detectives Cutlciff and Bergman are handling the investigation.
