POWNAL, VT — Vermont State Police cited two motorists for racing on US Route 7 near Vermont Route 346 on April 30, 2026.
Troopers observed two vehicles racing at approximately 2:13 p.m. in heavy traffic during active rainfall.
Both vehicles were clocked by radar traveling 93 mph in a posted 50 mph zone.
Police conducted a traffic stop on both vehicles.
Landen Caron, 22, of Shaftsbury, and a juvenile were each issued Vermont Civil Violation Complaints for speeding, carrying two points and a waiver penalty of $641 each.
Both operators were also charged with negligent operation.
Both were processed at the scene and released.
