READING, MA — Police are warning salon and gym owners about a man who has been entering businesses without appointments and making employees uncomfortable.

The Reading Police Department identified the man as Sepeher Belar, who recently visited local salons and gyms and attempted to make conversations with employees.

During conversations at salons, Belar asked female employees if he could read their palms and feet, according to police.

The incidents were not reported to police until after they occurred.

Police said they are not aware of any criminal activity in Reading involving Belar.

However, police said he is clearly making women feel unsafe.

Social media posts throughout Massachusetts and New Hampshire state Belar has harassed people and wants to kidnap someone, according to police.

Police said they cannot confirm those reports with other law enforcement agencies at this time but are working with other local departments on the matter.

Belar has not returned to Reading since the reported incidents last week, according to police.

Police are asking anyone who feels unsafe or uncomfortable to call immediately.
