Woman arrested on aggravated assault charge in Nazareth

NAZARETH, PA — A 35-year-old woman was arrested April 27, 2026, after allegedly stabbing a man during a domestic dispute.

Officers with the Nazareth Borough Police Department were dispatched to a residence on South Broad Street for a reported Advanced Life Support incident involving a male suffering from significant bleeding.

Upon arrival, officers located an adult male inside the residence suffering from a deep stab wound to the torso.

Officers immediately rendered aid until emergency medical personnel arrived.

The victim was subsequently transported to a local hospital where he remains in stable but serious condition.

Officers also located an adult female at the scene.

A kitchen knife believed to have been used in the incident was recovered inside the residence.

The investigation revealed that the incident stemmed from a domestic dispute between the involved parties, who share a child together.

During the altercation, the female reportedly armed herself with a kitchen knife and confronted the male.

A physical struggle then ensued, during which the male sustained a stab wound.

Raquel Lawanna James was taken into custody and arraigned before Magisterial District Judge John Capobianco.

James was committed to Northampton County Prison under $250,000 bail.

She faces charges including aggravated assault, terroristic threats, possessing an instrument of crime, recklessly endangering another person and simple assault.
