Man arrested on drug charge in Bath

BATH, NY — A Bath man was arrested early Saturday morning after police found him in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

An officer with the Village of Bath Police Department was conducting a foot patrol in the area of the Centenary United Methodist Church on West Washington Street at approximately 3:50 a.m.

Two subjects were observed sitting on a bench at the rear of the building.

One of the subjects, identified as Travis J. Carlton, 27, of Bath, was observed to be in possession of drug paraphernalia.

An investigation ensued and Carlton was found to be in possession of a quantity of methamphetamine.

Carlton was arrested and charged with one count of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, a class A misdemeanor.

Carlton was processed and released on an appearance ticket.

He is due in Bath Village Court at a later date.
