BELL ACRES, PA — Police are warning residents about a scam involving fake jury duty warrants.
The Bell Acres Police Department received a report of individuals calling residents and claiming they have warrants for failing to appear for jury duty.
The scammers are requesting payment of fines through Bitcoin purchases, money orders or gift cards.
Police say law enforcement officers will never call and request those types of payment.
Residents who receive such calls are asked to contact the Bell Acres Police Department.
