SOMERS, NY — A nursing home employee was arrested after allegedly assaulting a 91-year-old resident at a rehabilitation facility.
New York State Police responded to Paramount at Somers Rehabilitation and Nursing Center on April 25, 2026, at approximately 11:30 p.m. for a report of an incident involving a staff member and a resident.
An investigation conducted by uniform members and the Bureau of Criminal Investigation determined that Nashecka K. Moodie, 36, of Bronx, spit on and struck the elderly resident.
Moodie was arrested and charged with Endangering the Welfare of an Incompetent or Physically Disabled Person 2nd, a class A misdemeanor, and Harassment in the 2nd, a violation.
Moodie was arraigned in the Town of Somers Court on April 26, 2026, and released on her own recognizance.
She is scheduled to return to court on April 27, 2026, at 5:30 p.m.
A full stay-away Order of Protection has been issued on behalf of the victim.
