Man charged after police chase in Nazareth

NAZARETH, PA — A 20-year-old man was charged after fleeing from Nazareth Police during a traffic stop attempt on April 13.

According to police, officers observed a vehicle on Easton Road driven by Elijah M. Reed of Nazareth, who was suspected of operating with a suspended license.

When officers activated their overhead lights to initiate a stop, the vehicle slowed briefly before accelerating and fleeing at a high rate of speed.

Police did not pursue the vehicle but later identified and located it through investigation.

Authorities confirmed with the registered owner that the driver had fled from police.

Reed faces charges including fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer, reckless driving, careless driving, driving while operating privilege is suspended, and driving without a valid license.
