Man arrested on grand larceny charges in Lewis

LEWIS, NY — New York State Police arrested a man early April 25, 2026, and charged him with grand larceny in the fourth degree (motor vehicle) and grand larceny in the third degree (property exceeding $3,000).

Troopers responded to U.S. Route 9 in the town of Lewis at approximately 12:52 a.m. for a report of a stolen vehicle.

An investigation determined that a black 2019 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck had been taken from the Wooden Nickel.

The vehicle’s owner was able to track the truck, which was subsequently located at the Black Bear Restaurant in Pottersville.

Further investigation revealed that Chris J. Poulos, 57, of New York, entered the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado without permission and removed it from the location.

Poulos was arrested and transported to SP Schroon Lake for processing.

He was arraigned in the Town of Moriah Court and remanded to the Essex County Jail.
