Man shot during robbery in Newark

NEWARK, NJ — Police are seeking the public’s help identifying three suspects involved in a robbery and shooting that left a victim injured Friday, March 13, 2026.

Officers responded to reports of a victim suffering from a gunshot wound after he was robbed near South Orange Avenue and Littleton Avenue at approximately 10 p.m.

At that location, the victim and the suspects were arguing until they attacked and robbed him.

One of the men shot the victim in the leg.

All three suspects fled, and the victim walked to University Hospital.

The two suspects who robbed the victim are described as Black males with dark brown complexions.

Suspect #1 was wearing a red hooded sweatshirt and a denim jacket with a multi-color design on the back.

Suspect #2 was wearing a black and blue jacket, a dark blue “Adidas” knitted hat, and dark colored pants.

Suspect #3, who shot the victim, is described as a tall Black male with a medium brown complexion.

He was wearing a grey hooded sweater and a black coat.

Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, Sr., urges anyone with information on the suspect’s identity to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477).

All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are confidential and could result in a reward.
