PELHAM, NH — A Hudson man faces multiple charges after fleeing from police and crashing into a tree early Sunday morning.
Pelham Police attempted to stop a Honda Civic on Bridge Street at 4:33 a.m. on April 25, 2026, for speed and yellow line violations.
The Civic turned around in a gas station and fled northbound on Bridge Street at a high rate of speed despite the officer’s activated emergency lights and siren.
The brief pursuit was terminated for safety reasons.
The Civic was found crashed into a tree on Bridge Street by Short Road a short time later.
The suspect fled on foot before officers arrived but lost a shoe and a phone in the nearby area.
Pelham Police contacted New Hampshire State Police for a K-9 track.
The Salem Police Department and New Hampshire State Police assisted in searching for the suspect.
At approximately 9:35 a.m., a suspicious man was reported walking barefoot on Webster Avenue.
Pelham officers checked the area and started another K-9 track with New Hampshire State Police.
At approximately 10:33 a.m., the suspect was found in the back yard of a nearby residence.
Anthony Serrano, 38, of Hudson, was identified as the driver of the vehicle and was taken into custody without incident by Pelham Police.
Serrano was charged with reckless operation, disobeying an officer, conduct after an accident and criminal trespass.
He was evaluated by Pelham Fire Department EMS personnel and transported to a nearby hospital for minor injuries related to the crash.
Serrano was bailed and released to the hospital on personal recognizance.
He will be arraigned at Salem District Court on June 1, 2026, at 8 a.m.
