LAWRENCE, MA — A man was arrested on drug trafficking charges Wednesday after police responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle on Bradford Street.
Officers assigned to the day patrol shift were called to the area, known for drug activity, at approximately midday.
Upon arrival, officers found two occupants inside the vehicle.
During the investigation, officers discovered a large machete-style knife that violated the city’s knife ordinance.
Police also recovered two small baggies containing suspected narcotics.
One baggie contained approximately 20.3 grams of a white powdery substance believed to be crack cocaine.
The second baggie contained approximately 20.4 grams of a substance consistent with heroin/fentanyl.
Officers also seized $270 in cash.
One individual was taken into custody and charged with violations of the city knife ordinance, trafficking in cocaine (18 grams or more, less than 36 grams), and trafficking in heroin (18 grams or more, less than 36 grams).
