SPRINGFIELD, MA — A man wanted in connection with a shooting in New York was arrested Thursday morning at Union Station.
Andre Blanks, 36, of Springfield, was taken into custody at approximately 7:30 a.m. on Frank B. Murray Street.
Members of the Springfield Police Warrant Apprehension Unit, United States Marshals Fugitive Task Force, U.S. Marshals, and the New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force conducted the arrest.
Blanks was wanted on a fugitive from justice court warrant that is fully extraditable from Schenectady, New York.
He is alleged to have shot a victim in New York state before fleeing to Springfield.
Blanks is charged with fugitive from justice on a court warrant.
