NETHER PROVIDENCE, PA — A Wallingford man is facing felony charges in connection with two separate residential incidents in the Scott-Glen neighborhood earlier this week.
Daniel O’Connor, 42, of Wallingford, was arrested Wednesday morning on charges including felony burglary, criminal trespassing and theft related to an early Tuesday incident in the 300 block of Bickmore Drive.
He was remanded to the George W. Hill Correctional Facility after failing to post 10 percent of $30,000 bail set by Magisterial District Judge Elizabeth Gallard.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 1 in Gallard’s court.
O’Connor also faces misdemeanor charges of loitering and prowling at night, criminal mischief, disorderly conduct and multiple narcotics offenses stemming from a separate incident in the 500 block of Sheffield Drive.
The investigation began early Tuesday when Officers Robert Brake and Andrew Yates of Nether Providence Township Police responded to several reports of a man banging on doors in the Scott-Glen neighborhood.
The officers found O’Connor in the 500 block of Sheffield Drive, where he was actively banging on a front door.
He was found in possession of suspected crack cocaine and a quantity of loose change.
O’Connor also caused property and vehicle damage, with losses estimated at over $1,200.
Later Tuesday, police were notified of an overnight burglary in the 300 block of Bickmore Drive.
Officer William Sweeney learned from the homeowner that after being awakened by a noise, he encountered a white male in his living room on the first floor.
The intruder was speaking incoherently and appeared to be under the influence.
The homeowner told police he discovered the front door had been forced open, and the suspect fled with loose change, the homeowner’s garage remote and an Amazon package addressed to the residence.
As part of an ongoing investigation by township Detective James Irey, the Bickmore Drive homeowner positively identified O’Connor through a photographic array as the individual in his residence.
Residents in the Scott-Glen neighborhood are encouraged to review home surveillance footage from 12 a.m. to 4:30 a.m. on April 21.
Anyone with relevant video of suspicious persons or incidents is asked to contact Detective Irey at 610-892-2875 ext. 124 or [email protected].
